Electric Vehicle Charging Plug Products
Currently, there are five international standards for electric vehicle charging interfaces. Among them, the Combo socket allows both slow and fast charging and is the most widely used type in Europe. Today, we will introduce the standards of electric vehicle charging plugs.
Standards for Electric Vehicle Charging Plugs:
CHAdeMO Fast Charging Socket
CHAdeMO, supported by Nissan, Mitsubishi, and others, is a fast charging socket that can deliver up to 50 kW of charging power. The term "CHAdeMO" comes from the Japanese for "charge time is as tea break," indicating its quick charging capability.
Combo Socket
The Combo socket supports both slow and fast charging and is currently the most widely used type in Europe. Brands like Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Daimler, Ford, GM, Porsche, and Volkswagen will adopt the SAE-developed charging interface in the future. This socket is also compatible with the Mennekes type.
SAE Standards
The SAE standards are supported by many major automakers, aiming for fast charging times comparable to refueling times, specifically achieving charging times within 10 minutes under DC direct current, with charging stations capable of providing up to 500V and 200A.
Tesla Socket
Tesla's socket is known for its strength, claiming to charge over 300 kilometers in 30 minutes. It supports a maximum capacity of 120 kW and a maximum current of 80A, setting a benchmark in the industry.
Mennekes Fast Charging Socket
This AC fast charging standard is widely trusted across the European Union. It supports up to 44 kW of power and is available at most European charging stations. This three-phase AC charging solution was introduced and named by the German company Mennekes.
CEE Standard Charging
CEE plugs are among the most widely used electrical sockets, applicable for both home and outdoor charging stations. These sockets provide up to 12 kW and a maximum of 32A for slow charging purposes.
